Prompt Time: 10 More Story Starters

Published on 16 November 2024 at 18:40

Hey-o, Word-wielders,

More prompts for you peeps. Today I'll be sharing 10 story starters (aka, first lines for your story. Or poem. Or Newbery Award winning children's novel. The choice is yours.)

If you want some additional prompts, check out my post Prompt Time: 10 Story Starters.

Are you ready? Grab your pen, (or laptop. Or typewriter if you're that cool) and read on?

1. All my life, I've longed to stroke the iridescent wings of a moth.

2. Droughts of cold flung themselves into the cabin as Genesis blustered in.

3. Under smog, over fog, through swamp and lake and dangerous bog.

4. When she turned around to face me, the smile was gone.

5. "Honestly, Kade, what's with the frogs?"

6. Breena knew things about the Dovina lands I could only dream of learning.

7. Lairn had never seen a purple dog before the one under the porch.

8. You pull your goggles over your eyes. "Ready for the final step?"

9. Can you feel the poems, my dear, embossed in verdant leaves?

10. "You told me I wouldn't have to speak Latin if I came with you!"

Well, that's 10 more story starters. If you use them let me know down in the comments, and if you have your own to contribute you can as well.

May you live for Christ and give Him praise!
